Testing

Our leadership lies in technical capability and experience.

Electrical Commissioning

The final step towards a safe business operation is the commissioning process. We have a team of specialists who have all the necessary equipment and are always available to mobilise on-site

We focus on providing electrical commissioning, routine testing and troubleshooting services for high, medium and low voltage systems.

We offer a wide range of electrical and functional diagnostic tests on all components present in substations and power plants:

  • Control and protection panels
  • Power transformers
  • Voltage and current transformers
  • Generators and motors
  • Excitation systems
  • Switches and disconnectors
  • Earthing systems
  • Medium voltage cables
  • Design and implementation of logics, interlocks and control loops
  • Power quality, harmonics and flicker measurements

Our speed of response, our know-how and the whole range of successfully completed projects are our calling cards.

We are committed to deadlines

NET CODE COMPLIANCE AND COMMERCIAL LICENSING

We understand the electricity market in each country and we know what is needed.

New generation plants connecting to a national interconnected system must comply with the grid codes applicable in each country. For example: PT4 and PT9 in Argentina, NTSyCS and/or NTSSCC in Chile, Agreements 1223 to 1225, 1246 and 1313 in Colombia, PR20 and PR21 in Peru, Interconnection Manual and Grid Code in Mexico, MOD 025, 026 and 027 in the USA, NTS in Spain and the EU, etc.

PSS/E, DigSILENT, Matlab and Photon, among others

The EE team has country-specific and country-enabled equipment, local offices with specialists, remote support and a long experience in field testing and mathematical modelling in different tools (PSS/E, DigSILENT, Matlab and Photon, among others).

EE has developed tests and models of voltage regulators (AVR), limiters (OEL, UEL V/Hz), speed controls (GOV) of synchronous machines and controls of non-conventional renewable plants in more than 30,000 MW of all types of technology, such as gas turbines, combined cycles, nuclear power plants, solar and wind power plants, batteries (BESS), biogas plants, among others.

We are regional leaders in the field of testing and modelling of non-conventional renewable energies.

TECHNICAL AUDITS ON POWER PLANTS

Complementary services are a product. We design and audit the control systems involved.

Thanks to our team’s expertise in control systems, together with regulatory requirements in relation to complementary services and operational performance, we focus on:

  • Primary frequency regulation
  • Voltage regulation
  • Black start
  • Maximum power

  • Net specific demand
  • Starting and stopping parameters
  • Power quality

We can ensure project success in any operational environment. This means that our audit service not only accredits the correct performance of systems to third parties in the audit format, but we can also design control loops and strategies to ensure that such requirements are met in the future.

A long history in auditing, as well as knowledge of many grid codes from different countries, has sparked the creativity of our R&D group, which developed stand-alone auditing tools for frequency regulation and voltage control.
